Stacey Dee: My Music

My Last Night

(Stacey Dee)
December 25, 2009
Stacey Dee and Mikhael Einbinder

Mike and I co-wrote this song years ago!  Mike wrote the guitar part and gave it to me to listen to and finish.  The melody was inspired by the music that Mike had already written and the words came from asking myself the very question that I pose at the beginning of the first verse:  If I knew that today was my last day, would there be anything I would do?

Unspoken love is one of those things that haunts many of us and has haunted me at times in my past.

May we all live like today is our last day when it comes to loving other.

(Small disclaimer - I changed many of the original chords that Mike wrote so I could play it!)

If somebody asked me what I would do tonight

If I new tomorrow would never come

I wouldn't even hesitate, not even for a minute

I know just where I'd run

I would rush over to your house

And I would kiss you goodbye

Then I would tell you I love you

For the first time on my last night

I haven't told you how I feel for a million reasons

And I know that you would understand

But if I knew tomorrow wouldn't come and there might be a chance that

I would never see you again

Then I would drive over to your house

And I would kiss you goodbye

Then I would tell you I love you

For the first time on my last night

Oh, oh, oh do you feel the same way?

Oh, oh, oh I have got to know

Oh, oh, oh 'cause if you feel the same way

Oh, oh, oh then I would want you to know

That I would rush over to your house

And I would look in your eyes

Then I would tell you I love you

For the first time on my last night

I would drive over to your house

And I would kiss you goodbye

Then I would tell you I love you

For the first time on my last night
