Stacey Dee: My Music
How To Tell You Goodbye
One of my dearest friends, Beth, lives with a debilitating disease.
She used to play guitar, sing and write.
My last visit with her she told me she'd been writing again and read my the lyrics of the first verse of this song.
I pulled out my guitar and together we finished the song.
We will all say goodbye someday. Some sooner than others.
Thank God for friends along the way.
Can I tell you that I love you
Can I tell you that I care
And can I tell you when I needed you, you were always there, mmm
Can I tell you that I laughed, can I tell you that I cried
And can I tell you that I don't know how to tell you goodbye
Can I tell you life's been hard
Well if I'm honest it's been hell
And can I tell you that it's hard to remember ever feeling well, mmmm
You've been more than just a friend, you're the reason I'm alive
So can I tell you that I don't know how to tell you goodbye
It's not that I wanna go
It's just that I'm so, I'm so, I'm so tired
It's not that I wanna leave you
I just don't know, don't know how much longer I can survive
mmmm, oooo, ohhhh, mmmm
You are more than just a friend, you're the reason I'm alive
So can I tell you that I don't know how to tell you goodbye
How to tell you goodbye
How to tell you goodbye
How to tell you.....goodbye
